OMR Beauty, a rapidly growing Swedish beauty brand, had outgrown its locally hosted legacy e-commerce platform, Askås. Routine updates - such as adding new languages or currencies - required significant agency involvement, resulting in ongoing operational costs and delays. The brand also faced critical issues related to stock level accuracy, pricing management, and limited flexibility in integrating with third-party partners. In effect, they were locked into a rigid tech stack that could not support their ambitions. Askås’ limitations hindered OMR Beauty’s business development, marketing initiatives, and global expansion, while continuous maintenance work and platform bugs diverted focus away from growth. With their full potential constrained by technical barriers, OMR Beauty needed a modern, scalable foundation to unlock international opportunities and position the brand for long-term market leadership.

OMR Beauty faced several critical issues with their legacy tech stack:

  • High Integration Costs: Locked into platform and agency Askås, resulted in significant expenses for even minor updates or new initiatives.
  • Lack of Flexibility: Rigid design and content constraints hindered OMR Beauty’s ability to create dynamic, engaging brand experiences.
  • Scalability Limitations: The platform’s outdated architecture was not built for international growth, making expansion into new markets slow and operationally complex.

Panagora’s mission was to redesign OMR Beauty's digital presence, rebuild its product data models, and implement a new tech stack. We proposed a new flagship store concept based on Shopify Plus’s Online Store 2.0 and Shopify Markets, with a focus on:

  • Custom Theme Design: A distinctive, high-performance theme that embodies OMR Beauty’s visual identity while delivering a seamless and optimized customer experience.
  • Rich Design System: We developed a modern, flexible design system and an extensive section library, enabling OMR Beauty to efficiently publish on-brand content at scale.
