DeMellier is a London-based handbag brand with the vision of doing things differently, to create handbags that will make women feel empowered, that are beautifully designed and of the highest quality, but also made with integrity whilst finding a way to give back to those less fortunate. DeMellier needed a complete revamp of their Magento 2 setup due to maintenance and performance issues and their old site did not reflect their true brand potential. They were ready to take their next step in scaling up their global ecommerce business.
Idea
Our mission was to re-design the site and re-platform their tech stack and build a new store concept using our Panagora starter-theme based on Online store 2.0 and Shopify markets and deliver a distinct and highly performing retail experience. Our idea was to re-platform from Magento 2 to Shopify Plus with new ecommerce solutions and tech stack. DeMellier had a long list of requirements that also required client specific solutions such as monogramming, gift-wrapping, user generated content and pre-order etc. We used our optimized Panagora starter-theme for a superior responsive solution, navigation, speed and effortless shopping experience. The starter-theme boosts sales, site performance, SEO, accessibility and best practice but allows unique client specific solutions and brand expressions. We also enabled our strategic partners such as Klaviyo, Gorgias, Referral candy to build a strong tech stack deeply integrated.
Impact
Re-platforming their new flagship store on our new starter-theme based on Online store 2.0 and Shopify markets means that the client can plan, expand, launch and scale up their global business as a leading player within their niche. They can easily publish rich shopping and branded content on every page, onboard new staff members and enable sales, influencer, localization and marketing activities. Moreover, they can easily showcase rich video content sitewide without any fear of site speed or bounce rate issues.
The best parts of working with Panagora for this project have been: first the design team they had who could interpret and develop our very strong vision, second their ability to develop and launch a new website with no downtime and error free, and third their constant focus on ongoing optimisation, which is not common in the market.
